Ages 2 - 3 (Pequeños Esponjitas) - Little Sponges
At
this stage, youngsters use their senses and motor abilities to
understand the world around them. In addition to our monthly themes, we
regularly send our messages by modeling and speaking clearly in full
sentences. Our young students love to
imitate teachers and call objects by name, put words together, sing and
respond to music. We use every opportunity during the day and
through our activities to encourage them to use their senses and help
them to express their feelings and imagination as they develop language
through play and social interaction while having a bonding and close
relationship with their teachers and friends.

Ages 4 - 7 Los Spontaneos - The Expontaneous Ones
This is the time when imagination takes flight and language becomes
a significant means of self-expression and influence from others. This group of
children understands and coordinates multiple points of view because
they assimilate things. During these years children are better able to
understand the differences between languages, perception, emotion, and
fact. Although they do not necessarily focus on what teachers introduce
on a particular day, they retain what they hear. Not only do they see
the main theme for the day but they also recall the past and speak
spontaneously. They participate easily and are interested in trying new
activities introduced to them. |

Ages 8 - 12 Los Intuitivos - The Intuitives
This
group of children understands and applies logical operations, or
principals, to interpret experiences objectively and rationally
rather than intuitively. They have the ability to learn and logically
understand the basic concepts and themes. Because of their cognitive
development, we teach these students more abstract themes. We emphasize
not only verbal skills, but also age-appropriate reading, writing, and
grammar. They learn to put sentences together and recognize
singular and plural nouns, and respond to questions with a given number
of verbs in different tenses according to their skill level. There are
many opportunities for conversation in Spanish during the fun games,
articles, science experiments, and arts and crafts which help students
increase their interest in language, verbal skills and vocabulary.

Private/Semi-Private
Classes: We offer classes and lessons customized to the student's
level. Here students gain confidence as we carry on a conversation in
Spanish during the session. If the students are currently taking
Spanish at school, we work with them on questions they may have from
their school’s Spanish class, and practice the vocabulary verbally. To
help students with the learning process, we also provide written
material and worksheets to complete during class.

Research
Over
the years studies indicate that children who are bilingual at an early
age reap the benefits of creativity, thinking agility and lifelong
skills. Take a look at our Research page for helpful links.
